The FGC 9, for example, has a barrel that one can electro-chemically machine with 3d printed jigs, wire, salt water, hydraulic pipe, and a 12v battery

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Instead of tolerating gun control, why not arm and organize labor-union militias?
1·1 天前Labor unions leverage their labor in negotiations. I’m all for people being armed, but not for those types of negotiations.

5·2 天前12GB is a lot of ram. By small local models I am talking about fine tuning something like < 2GB LLM

80·3 天前Why can’t they just fine tune a small locally hosted model? Are they dumb?
Most gamers have a GPU anyways

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Transparent, sweet, handsome, but lowkey chaotic guy I've been on a few dates with - stay or run?? I'm confused and appreciate any advice!
91·3 天前That’s just my opinion though. I have just heard too many stories about things going VERY badly when addiction and hard drugs are involved and personally I plan on steering clear of all that in my life

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Broadly speaking, what is your current take on AI?
22·5 天前I think LLMs are useful for some things, but not as useful as people think overall.
I suspect the major LLMs will follow the enshittification trend, prices will go up, and people will abandon them for smaller open weight models
You could travel so fast
I suppose it is a mixture, of both work and coworkers.
I like trying to “perfect my craft”. But also, I like spending time with my coworkers and getting to brainstorm and chat with them.
That being said I am also very fortunate to only have to work 36hrs per week. Pay is less than full time, but it can also just eat out less
Not trying to be sarcastic, but do you not find joy in your work? I’ll ask for more work too when I run out of things to do as well.
I just like electronics and stuff though. And the boring/tedious parts of my job I think it is at least fun to try to automate or streamline them with python or other tools
You guys have free time at work? Kinda curious what you all do?
I am and Electrical Engineer and am usually busy all day. Sometimes I’ll head home a few hours early if i hit my hours for for the week or if I have to “hurry up and wait”
And Frodo doesn’t know Legolas’ name
I have a new motorola razr.
Mainly I just think it is neat, but I do like the little screen on the outside. Ive actually noticed my screentime has decreased a lot. Its something about that extra step of opening it up and being able to handle little things on the small exterior screen.
I like how it fits in my pocket when folded compared to a normal phone
Another small thing is that I can set it up half folded to hold my flashlight while working or act as a camera tripod.
Battery is really good too. I’m not sure if it can just fit more battery or if the small exterior screen limits battery usage when closed, or both.
Yeah people on the right are lot more likely to overlook their disagreements as long as they can agree on a few things

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If you died tonight and people had to sort out your stuff, what would be the weirdest, most unexplainable trinket in your possession?
311·21 天前I have a ton of unique 3d printed firearms. They are legal for me to make and own where I live, but I can’t legally sell them or give them away so they have just accumulated over the years haha

112·29 天前It’s pretty interesting article. I actually dropped my Chad GPT subscription a few years ago and switched a locally hosting my own Ollama server for like privacy concerns.
I’m still going to continue to use my locally hosted large language models but I don’t know, its interesting to know that chat gpt seems to not care about user data except for training or making money.

10·29 天前I thought it was interesting how the article said that if ChatGPT was a human it would have been charged with murder.
Obviously I don’t think ChatGPT is a human but it does raise questions about the kind of laws regarding LLM and the companies behind them.
Like at what point do AI companies have a responsibility to step in in these scenarios?

Some people print things at an angle I’ve heard. Uses more support material though
