If you’re into Docker containers at all, I just set this one up last night and it does work, eventually. I don’t know if it would fix your problem, but it fixed mine with downloading anything at all.

One thing that sucks about that is you might miss an upgrade that needed to happen before a large version jump later. It’s pretty rare but I believe I’ve seen a container break like that and the upgrade was misery.

I’m surprised nobody has mentioned a brass wire wheel attachment on a Dremel. Abrasive enough to get the print off but not so abrasive that it scratches glass. I’ve done it myself and it works great. Tons of YouTube videos on it.

One of us, one of us! Hahaha. I think at the core of it we care about other people and don’t want to see them be stuck in a privacy nightmare with no way to escape… and they paid for that experience. But yes, I also support people doing what they like, I sincerely mean that.

Statistically insignificant is one way to put it, but I would argue it is somewhat significant. Just perhaps not to the extent we’d like to see. What did you end up buying? I’m leaning towards Prusa again, was looking at Creality but I’m not wanting to tinker around much with that stuff anymore.

I’m not sure that would’ve influenced my situation with a dual core i5-6300U and 4gb ram, it’s a pretty sluggish thing from the get go. But good to know about distrobox maybe that can help me in the future. Now rocking Debian and it’s great.

From what I gather, if you like tinkering and compiling and installing random weird apps then immutable can be a serious pain in the ass like I discovered.
