Interesting. The only thing that really surprised me was the time zone thing. Can I hide that somehow?
the term “Custom ROM” is outdated and technically inaccurate
Why do you say that?

No, translations is not AI and everybody knows that, including Mozilla. Lumping translations in with the rest of the AI shit completely defeats the purpose of having the “AI off switch”.

5·17 days agoFocus locally, consider first your own community, first in fact then in metaphor. I mean, focus first on what’s actually going on around you, in person. Not plugged in enough to understand that? There are lots of people who need help. Volunteer with your local food not bombs, outreach group, or food pantry.
Then if you need to consider events outside your community, think about how they would map onto your own community and how people you really know would act and react.
Of course this only works if you’re not a gentrifier or trying to maintain segregation or anything like that. You’ve gotta recognize what you have in common with the guy on the street more than the rich fucks that dominate the news.

4·18 days agoThey make cars which run on hydrogen which you can get from water but that process is so inefficient they opt to get the hydrogen from natural gas instead thus defeating the entire purpose. Overall we have better tech now than “running a car on water” and doing that doesn’t help the bigger problem of unsustainable use of energy
Do people usually have to pay for things when they destroy them? I don’t think I’ve heard of that generally
Just don’t get caught though. Flee the country, lay low.

Why settle? Software is a continually evolving ecosystem and grafting yourself to a certain distribution model or distribution team doesn’t really make sense when you consider that. Some distribution might have the best things for you, today. Tomorrow, another may come along and do it better, or your current distribution may shift to not be to your liking anymore. Be flexible, but don’t change for the sake of change. Change for a good reason.

Idk if it’s so simple. I’m a part of some community efforts along those lines and inventory management still needs done. Not to say “your dream is impossible”, quite the contrary. Recognize the radical template that the library gives us!
