I had done that for a long time. It worked until it didn’t and I lost passwords. I tried again with keepass2android and it’s built-in sync. It again worked fine until at some point it wasn’t able to sync anymore for no discernible reason. I’d love for this to be a reliable setup, but it just isn’t in my experience, at least when there are 3+ devices involved with different clients and no proper awareness of the password manager and the sync sides of each other.

The transition of gitea to chasing profits was pretty messy too iirc and motivated the forgejo fork. Gitea lost a lot of good-will back then. Forgejo is also the base that codeberg runs on now.

I have done basically that before and it worked. But I find Tailscale with a headscale server easier to manage. Maybe I’ll take a look into selfhosting netbird at some point too.

Capcom puts Denuvo into everything, then after a while they replace it with enigma, which is presumably cheaper, and leave that shit in indefinitely. They also put DRM in games on Steam that they are already selling DRM-free on GoG, defeating any imagined benefit DRM could have and just punishing their actual customers.

Sega meanwhile puts Denuvo into absolutely everything and just keeps it in forever. Square Enix puts Denuvo into everything, but at least usually removes it after a while. I’m thinking this might really be a Japanese thing. They also don’t only hate piracy but modding as well, so I’m not surprised they would all opt for the most heinous form of DRM.

I do use audiobookshelf and have it in fact integrated in music assistant as the audiobook source. My use-case for MA is multi-room streaming to the kitchen and living room, which audiobookshelf can’t do on it’s own.

I wish they would add skip forward/backward by x seconds buttons to the player interface. As it is it is unfortunately unusable for podcasts and audiobboks.

If they sell it only through Steam as they do with the Steam Deck, companies wouldn’t really be able to buy them in bulk.

I don’t think people got your point. I assume you meant that people aren’t “sideloading” in android yet, because you just download an APK file and install it. Same as installing an EXE file in windows outside of the Microsoft Store is not called “sideloading” either.

Awesome! Just tried out the iOS app, it looks really nice! It seems to have some quirks with local downloads, like not showing any download progress anywhere, and not being able to download some episodes despite being able to play them. But it looks like there is finally going to be an iOS podcast app that can sync through the gpodder API and that’s amazing. If it has a solid offline mode (syncing progress properly after going back online) it might replace AntennaPod on Android for me as well
