And bite. Lots of biting.

It’s more about the scripts being given a passover of approval from the CCP. Want your movie in China? Usually, there’s some adaptation for the region, no big deal. However, I remember articles coming out about how the movie adaptation may not be accepted if the U.S. version doesn’t fit the standard, meaning the U.S. version would have changes made at the suggestion of the CCP.
Your proposal is so much better than the original word itself, too.
I hate it. I’m soooo tired of reading it.
It is, certainly. I was coming at it from the perspective of if there weren’t humans to count, we would still have 10 fingers. I.e., if there’s no one around to count, do numbers still exist.
I’m not sure I agree with this… it’s like if no one is around to hear a tree fall, does it make a sound?
Is something like Plex an option? Get a hard drive, set up a request system (Ombi), then a little app on their phone can take requests and download the shows they feel like they’re missing.
Done right it’s a one time set up, and an up front payment but over the course of a year I feel like you’re saving the cost of either DirectTV or the streaming services.
Also, you can tell them that DirecTV simply licenses shows the way streaming services do which is why they won’t lose any content.
DirecTV also may something they prefer simply for what they’re used to. At 7pm the same show comes on every day. If that’s a part of it, my previous suggestion of a server for media is able to put together TV channels using something like DizqueTV. I understand that it’s a bit of effort, though.
At least keep a box of cables and donate it to an electronics recycling or a electronics upcycling store (ReUse, NextStep).
Apple isn’t the only company doing this
You can back it up on Steam. You can download your entire library to a backup haddrive and run Steamless, effectively the exact same process as you just described for itch.io.
Sometimes it’s just not worth it. It’s nice to be able to workshop your thoughts, and then you’ve work shopped it so much that it’s just not worth posting - the user you’re responding to probably won’t care or will antagonize, sometimes your thoughts change as you’re typing them, sometimes it just doesn’t make sense and there’s no point in re-writing something that ultimately contributes very little to anything except your own self-expression.
There’s an episode of Catfish that has this. A lady is setting people up to eat at her restaurant lmao
There’s also the whole interaction in how the CEO treated someone who wrote an article and he wouldn’t leave her alone after asking him to stop.
From his perspective I get it, you want to have good press and try to clear up any misconceptions. But how he went about it was very unprofessional and far too pushy.
I really like Vanquish if you’re looking for a challenge
