We’re not going to get a third party. We have to turn the democrats into the party we want with one Bernie Sanders, AOC, and Zohran Mamdani at a time. This kind of rhetoric is practically pro-maga since it’s only ever going to take votes from the left.

The entire country is. That doesn’t change anything about what I said. Splitting the left’s vote in a two party first-past-the-post election system is only advantageous for the right.

It does matter because this political theater is just that theater while we continue to ratchet right. We’re so far right we are at what may be the beginnings of a holocaust. Our bffs are committing genocide so yea that relationship is super relevant especially if they are influencing our agenda. The democratic response to mandami was to condemn democratic socialism. Democratic socialism is the only thing that has ever given the world a healthy middle class under capitalism. The democrats condemn that? In my long life I have seen the democrats magically find a few representatives to block anything that helps the working class.

They’re a liberal party their primary concern is preserving capitalism. No matter how you slice it you’re getting capitalism and genocide. Do you want that to come with a democrat or a republican?

I’ve been playing this blue no matter who game for a very long time and things literally keep getting worse and more facist. My family lost everything in 2008 my mom literally died from that. It’s getting old. Nobody is ever held accountable and the economic recovery went to the people who screwed us. Jobs got shitter and underpaid underemployed became the new norm

And? You think that would’ve been better if we only had Republicans the whole time? Everything was literally going to get worse and more fascist anyway.

Blue no matter who isn’t a solution, it’s a strategy to delay fascism as much as possible while we build a better option. If you aren’t playing BNMW, you’re not lasting long enough to to fix anything. If that’s all you’re doing, then yeah everything’s still gonna get worse, just slowly.

Well the DNC isn’t going to allow leftist ideologies in the party.

So idk who you think we are going to vote for to turn things around.

But it isn’t the RNC or DNC

You can also fuck yourself with that maga rhetoric, how about this time YOU be the one to vote for leftists instead of asking the majority of people to continue to vote against their own self interests?

The DNC isn’t going to have a choice it’s already happening. You only get two choices in the country. Voting for your best interests is voting for the one of two parties that most closely aligns with your values. Any other choice is leaving fate to someone else. Throwing away your vote. Taking a vote from the party you’re closer to and throwing it in the garbage.

Guess which party benefits from less votes? The goal of the Green Party is not to win, it’s to spoil the election for the democrats. They admitted as much in the last election. Any other left wing party would do the same. We’re never going to win we’re never even going to get 5% of the vote.

The DNC does have a choice, they are choosing to try to suppress leftism.

The idea that this is all inevitable is some Hollywood levels of delusion.

What’s delusional is thinking that leftism is an option in a country that is currently descending into fascism. A country that routinely stages coups in other countries that elect socialists. We can aim to push the line left with small steps, but we’ll be incredibly lucky if we even see decent welfare in our lifetimes. Be real with yourself.

It’s frankly incredible to see a single mayor pushing socialist policies. That’s a huge win. Small steps like that are what we push for to boil this frog.

And? What’s your point? A Democrat who accomplishes something is better for leftists than a True Leftist who does nothing but sit online all day. Material change, no matter how small, is infinitely better than impotent ideology.

American liberals: Maybe if we vote the Dems really hard they’ll listen to people instead of their corporate donors.

Why not just vote Democrat so we can tax the rich? You realize this plan of yours simply stands in the way of taxing the rich?

      Oh honey…

The Democrats don’t want to tax the rich.

Otherwise they would have done it when they held power.

But no, when they hold power suddenly they are helpless and impotent to help people.

As soon as we gave Dems power they chose to just keep the seat warm for the next Republican that came along.

This has been happening for 50 years.

The Democrats literally tax the rich every time they’re in power. It’s how Clinton achieved government surplus. Right Wing nutjobs were stipulating that Kamala Harris would crash the US Economy with her unrealized capital gains tax for those made more than a million.

Dam well it’s too bad they never started any of those taxes. :/

Probably because Republicans blocked them when they were in power, because that’s how the Duopoly is designed to work.
