But seriously, meat gives a lot of easily-digestible protein, so when you cut it out your body starts to throw energy cravings everywhere, and fats and sugars are another easy-access energy source, so your body pushes hard for those.
I’ve found it helps to eat more smaller meals through the day to keep my energy up and my cravings low, if I haven’t been hitting up heavy-protein foods like beans.
Honestly I really needed the weight but you are probably spot on. I get enough protein bc of my protein powder atleast. Definitley gotta look into the saturated fats, wasn’t aware that was an issue for meat replacements, thanks.
Also, protein is the most filling of the three macronutrients. But there are some caveats. Protein powder, especially fast absorbing ones like whey, are generally not that filling. At least not compared to tuna, chicken etc… So make sure to find substitutes that indeed are filling
Idk how but despite cutting meat out of my diet I have gained 20lbs this year. Make it make sense, I’m gonna lose it
I mean, most sweets are vegetarian…

Not getting the correct amount of protein from other sources and overeating carbohydrates. Watch saturated fat levels in protein alternatives as well.

Good to hear then if it isn’t unwanted weight. Food replacement stuff can be fine but it can also be super sketchy.
