What you’re saying is correct but tiktok is where all the self censoring started. Truly terrible posts were always monetized on the other platforms before and only the most heinous stuff would get advertisers to drop a platform. People self censoring for likes because tiktok would bury them started a norm and now we live in that world. Without tiktok doing that largely at the behest of the CCP we wouldn’t be living in that/this socia media landscape because stopping cursing online was seen as impossible by advertisers until it wasn’t.
