    You want co controversial?! Ok
I think we should be able to decide our own deaths if we want too, and that should be law. Depresion is real, yes, but a lot of people want to LITERALLY impose life into others. Not only talking about end stage or crippling disease but also psychological issues so bad living with it is torture. You reading this and disagreeing are doing it becuse you afe either religious, and you are imposing your religion into others, or someone else would feel bad, regardless if the person lives in agony, they have to live to not make someone else sad. “I don’t want my son to take his life” YOU YOU YOU.

Of course I think there should be procedures and controls in place, like +21, 1 or 2 years mandatory psychiatric follow up, if you have youngs kid you also can’t. But if you are an adult, no kids, fuck your opinion dude, it’s their life their choice.

This issue is already resolved in Belgium, and if I’m not mistaken, also Canada in certain cases. Assisted Suicide has been around for a while, and in certain places it’s not a controversial concept at all.

Come to Canada or certain parts of Europe, we have MAiD.

Now granted, it’s heavily regulated such that you need extensive and documented proof of an unrecoverable decline that will only bring pain and suffering, and you need to pull that ripcord while you are still cognitively capable of giving consent (Canada generally still doesn’t permit advance assent), but it’s there to be used… even my own parents are putting all their ducks in a row to leverage it when it’s time.

I don’t want to die right now lol But I think I should if wanted to!

I think those programs are a great step forward and it should be regulated indeed, but we still have a long road to go until full body autonomy.

“You have to prove unrecoverable decline” for me that’s the issue. After a mandatory tryout period with a psychiatric, if the person still wants to die that should be up to them, not other people.
