Not to mention none knew that German Wehrmacht were popping insane amounts of pervitin that it enabled them to encircle the BEF thus coming through Belgium in a three day non stop march (early Wehrmacht wasn’t very mechanised).
It’s only cause they and the Luftwaffe collapsed after non stop combat operations that it gave the BEF that small window which they used to escape.
