Over the weekend I had a emergency with my cat and after spending $3400 on tests the vet finally came back with he needs surgery. I haven’t been able to get the funds together to get the surgery I tried posting on reddit, Instagram and Facebook. I was hoping to find a place on Lemmy I could ask for support. I hate doing this but I am desperate. If anyone knows the best place to post something like that, any guidance would be appreciated.
You’re gonna have a hard time convincing people this is legit with a brand new account with no post history. Regardless, good luck. My dog just cost me nearly two grand for surgery last week.
You probably need to take out a personal loan, at your bank, to pay for it.
Crowdfunding, & this sure as hell wasn’t obvious to me, until I read it, is dependent upon ALREADY-ESTABLISHED fanbase whom one can draw-on.
IOW, IF you’ve got a following of hundreds on yt, or something, THEN you can use that with a FundRazr or something, to raise funds.
Otherwise, there are zillions of people begging money, & a significant fraction of those are scams.
& we … aren’t in the business of being suckered, repeatedly.
( sorry I’m not offering to help: zero income, & homeless-again in 2 weeks: life sucks, but that’s karma )

Did you tried various cat subs? Jus the r/cat prob have enough traffic if you provide enough proof. Also try to DMs the mod.
