The Kabbalist nonsense drove me nuts, personally. Also he believes in hermetism instead so I spent the whole time trying to figure out what the fuck he was talking about and whether this is actually “true” Kabbalism or just what a relatively educated outsider thinks it is.
Also the Promethea trans-magical-woman (it’s a feminist work don’t call her a girl) is just one of the incarnations so don’t expect it to be the main theme.
Like, it’s a beautiful work, but just be aware that it’s actually more about Moore trying to express his mystical philosophy and inject some feminist ideas into the comic industry and more precisely maybe just maybe educate the weird dorks who love him because “Rorschach was so based.”
Comic writers always go off into poorly defined mystic realms, so I liked that he put in some stuff that actually made me want to pick up a book without pictures.
