wut? even korra wasn’t particularly anime-y, most characters were immediately recognizable from the outline of their face.
That’s on the character desginers regardless of animation style. Plenty of anime have immediately recognizable faces for the main cast. Plenty of non anime shows fail at it as well. It all depends on the quality of the artists and how much studios let the animators cook.
