At any time you may be asked to scan your device, such as a phone, laptop, etc. And you won’t be able to refuse, otherwise you’ll break the law, after which you’ll be arrested and they’ll still scan your device, look through all your files, see your activity on social networks, and find out everything that’s on your device, and no amount of protection will help you.
It’s magnificent isn’t it?
Interesting story. Hmm, what about Deus Ex: Mankind Divided? I just don’t like playing old games.
It has lots of political and technology commentary but the center piece is how the body modifications (often life saving but also often optional) make people with prosthetics dependant on anti-rejection drugs.
Game was beautiful years ago, should still look good on a switch screen or a remaster which I guess makes sense they’d have done. Fun too, a bit splinter cell like as I recall.
Well, I’ll try to play when I have time.
Ghost in the Shell is also becoming relevant if you’ve never seen it.
If you hate how the original looks, download the “Deus Ex revision” mod. Both are on Steam by the way, the game and the mod. Both, run perfectly on GNU/Linux.
Stay away from any online content because they will spoil the very good story. It is very apt, funny and accurate political satire and commentary. The story aged like fine wine that Jesus of Nazareth made himself.
Edit: Also on Deus Ex Mankind Divided, it was supposed to be a full game, but Square Enix Management decided that they wanted a trilogy, it’s essentially the opening act of a bigger game that does not exist and never will. Human revolution is still good.
Also, my favorite feature about Deus Ex Human Revolution were the negotiations. I did not take the social enhancer skill, so I just relied on my wits alone to best them and I got every single one. They were the biggest fun I had in a game ever. I was shivering and genuinely thinking so much about what answer would be appropriate for the negotiations. You can even talk the villain at the end to give up the keys for their super weapon. It’s not some nonsense, " we’ve now invested 100 skill points to unlock this option", no. Use your brain and you’re going to have the most fun with those, at least I did.
