Tldr: I need a new heated vest/jacket (and accessories). Got any recommendation?
My Milwaukee electric hoodie recently died. I liked it for the warmth under my jacket, but I never loved it because it didn’t get that hot. Just kind of warmish. I can always swap batteries.
I live in a climate that often drops to sub zero (F) temps, and I’m often outside for multiple hours. I have a nice parka and a puffy jacket. But electric heat feels so great beneath.
I want some new heated gear. Primarily a hoodie or vest, but a good jacket, gloves, socks, etc., could be nice too.
Ideas?
You are a heater; a really good one. Better clothes will help you store and distribute that heat. If you aren’t wearing a wool base layer, it will be the single greatest change you can make.
Milwaukee is a tool company. Try Carhartt, they actually know how to make clothes.
Do you also have (I assume) nice quality base layers, maybe wool?
Catalytic hand warmers (they run on lighter fuel) also still exist fwiw.
I had a vest from these guys for when id motorcycle in winter on the west coast.
