I am a guy from southern germany. I like scouting, trains and computers. Politically, I would consider myself as a democratic socialist.
(For anyone wondering, yes this is from the same guy, as !DeckPacker@piefed.blahaj.zone)

  • Gender is a social construct and describes a certain way we choose to act and dress etc.

So it’s pretty much impossible to be wrong about your gender if you are honest about your ambitions. The only way I could see someone being “wrong” about their gender is if someone says they are a certain gender but deliberately chooses to act in accordance with another. But even then, the line is blurry, so it would be stupid to police, what “true” gender expression is supposed to be.

  • And we should condemn them deeply for it.

You should still vote for them, I guess, but they don’t even have a presidential candidate for the next election.

This purity testing between Democrats is so stupid. They fucking better give me a candidate, that doesn’t want to slaughter Palestinians. That shouldn’t be a controversial statement. If we signal to Democrats now, that we will vote for them no matter what stupid inhumane bullshit they do, then we are just gonna get another Biden that doesn’t do anything for 4 years and then loose to the stupidest Republican candidate imaginable.

It’s not like the Democrats do anything for transrights, Gavin Newsom literally said, that they were to supportive of Trans People and that’s why they lost the last election. Shure, their own research (that they tried to hide from the public) showed, that Kamela Harris’s position on Gaza lost them the election, but shure, let’s blame the minority group that is already heavily under attack.

I mean, shure in the short term, Gavin Newsom might be preferable to Trump, but he will be so bad, that everybody is gonna hate him after 4 years and people will just return to the Republicans. If we just continue to accept the Democrats bullshit, we are not doing anything for ourselves.

  • It really depends on the video game I guess. There are a lot of video games, I would consider high art, but there are others, I wouldn’t. That’s really subjective though and other people will probably consider other games as art than me.

But there is no way to objectively determine what art is. My personal definition is like I determine the gender of a person. If the artist says, it’s art, then it is art.

  • I think that you have a lot of agency over how you live your life and what you do, which has a huge impact on your happiness.

There is no general answer here, just try to do more things that you know are good for you and make you happy. Eat healthier, stay reasonably fit, get a good and consistent sleep cycle (this has a huge hormonal impact on your happiness). Enjoy good art, make meaningful connections, if you are angry about the state of the world, try to revolt.

  • The question is, if this is correlation or causation. Maybe some people just do less things, that make them happy as they age? Doesn’t mean that you are gonna be unhappy.

Also, this is an average and I imagine, that there is a very high variance among different people. A lot of people may very well get progressively, happier as they age.

I would say, that happiness comes very much down to how you live your life, how you view the world and what you do.

If you have a job, that makes you happy and good relationships and stuff like that, you are probably gonna be happy regardless of your age.

Actually, I do none of those things and am really happy.

I find a lot of happiness in art, spending time with my friends and trying to do my part in overthrowing capitalism.

If you wanna be happy, don’t just numb yourself, find new art you enjoy (I’ve got a lot of great movies to recommend, if you are interested), organize, find local organizations where you can help out (maybe also something like mutual aid, a soup kitchen etc.), try to spend more time with your friends, or find new ones at the places mentioned above.

I understand that many of you work hard jobs and don’t have that much time or energy left, and I understand that and it sucks.

But if you’re bored or often find yourself spending way to much time online, why not use that time to revolt against the forces and systems that made us this unhappy?

Trust me, it may be hard at first, but it’s way more rewarding and fun than doomscrolling.
