Sorry if it’s already been pointed out but they just kind of skipped over boats

I’ve been listening to Transmissions from Uranus https://youtu.be/sgprkZbDvcE
I ask antivaxers I know if they ever turned down a medicine prescribed by their doctor other than the one the media told them to fear?
A large magnet. I bought it on a whim ~20 years ago for $20 (still online for same price). I got it on a whim while buying gifts from an educational toy website. It comes in handy whenever I drop something small that ferrous or just need it to hold onto things.
I had a Radio Shack computer in the early 80’s. When I sent in the warranty card, my address ended up on nerd mailing lists. Compuserve was the only public ISP and access cost $7 and hour IIRC plus it was a long distance call around 50 cents a minute (ask your grandparents). I was able to access the internet for free at public libraries. Had no idea what I was doing but managed to see weather predictions and access Nexus which was a digitized database of periodicals (magazines).
Set aside a cardboard box for stuff you haven’t used in years but you’d hate to throw away because it’s still useful. When the box fills up, drop it off at the thrift store and get another box
I’ll never forget being around 12 years old and hearing my dad address another adult by Mr+surname. It was Mr Palmer who organized the little league I grew up playing in and my dad coached. In school we were forced to address teachers and staff as Ms, Mrs or Mr but at that instance I realized treating others with respect is a choice
I too use stock for making food for my dogs. I’ll also make jello treats, it’s cheap, they love it, it’s really good for them.
I’d say pour salt into each pot but I fear the plants are the propery of a local nursery and it’s not their fault the store is managed by idiots
Did you get the 1200 baud modem?
TRS-80 CoCo, 16k RAM, cassette drive
I have a strategy for when I get tailgated in the slow lane and it’s not brake checking because that’s what they expect. I’ll lock the cruise control to my desired speed. They get right up on my ass and don’t back off, I speed up putting space between me and them. At this point they’ll speed up and I’ll take my foot off the gas and let the car slow down back to cruise control speed. Repeat as necessary. The trick is to never touch the brakes. The driver behind me is alternating between speeding up and hitting the brakes. Eventually they’ll get tired of it and either pass or back off
My orthopedic doctor recommended to me exercising with elastic bands (cheap at any drugstore). It’s low impact and you can easily control how difficult it is.
Not the exercises I was given but this video gets the idea across https://youtu.be/fgKHFLe654U
She’s gonna think you’re an asshole. Who cares what we think?
When parking i can get a good view of the immediate area, it’s easy to spot pedestrians and oncoming cars. Pulling out is easy. If I have to back out I don’t have such a good view. Yeah I get a look as I approach my car but by the time I sit down, click my seat belt, start the car, someone i didn’t see could be coming along.
US here. I got my first “home computer” a TRS-80 CoCo (16k RAM) sometime around 1981 before PCs were a thing. The internet existed but cost around $7 US per hour plus it was a long distance call to Compuserve the only ISP which would have cost around 50 cents a minute (on a 1200 baud dial up modem). I still have an advertisement somewhere. Also i have a thin book of websites. You had to type in the IP address because domain names didn’t exist yet. I couldn’t afford any of this so I visited BBS’s though I did fumble around with the internet on public library computers. The Macintosh and PCs came out a few years later but few homes had one because they were expensive and you couldn’t do much with them besides play games. Businesses of course had them because they were useful. It wasn’t until the mid 90’s did everyone buy one after the internet got popular.
This one is from nearly 30 years ago. In my dream I’m approached by 2 policemen who tell me my father has been killed and they need me to come with them for questioning. I’m 100% sure my father is alive and this is all a misunderstanding. I get in the back of their police car laughing that it’s all a waste of time but whatever, no worries. As the car is rolling along I’m looking out the windows as the landscape gradually changes. First it was all tall pine trees then became rocky, then nothing but rocks. While still moving it all fades away and the car disappears and I’m flying. The only other thing I remember is seeing a bird flying with me. It’s a bird I’ve never seen before even though I’m a bit of a backyard birder. There were teardrop shaped things trailing behind it’s wings as if attached by strings. Truly unusual looking. I wake up in the morning and I’m convinced I was tricked into leaving my body by these men claiming to be policemen. Fast forward to just a few weeks ago, someone posts video of a nightjar. A nocturnal bird that looks just like the one in my dream! https://youtu.be/8XqqlC_MoWk
Not many people owned a PC before the internet blew up
I’m secretly hoping for another housing crash so I can afford a larger house and have my dad move in with me. Donald Trump seems to be my best chance at that
Political parties don’t cater to people who don’t vote
