  • Yeah I’m done educating you tbh. Not worth my time when you’re arguing in bad faith.

Learn what a strawman is. 90% of your post was strawman after strawman.

Define strawman for me, kiddo. Then re-read your above comment. I counted 6, can you find all 6 strawman arguments in your comment?

The conversation was never about you or your ego, but youve thoroughly convinced me with this conversation that you are probably both racist and a eugenicist - hit dog hollers and you seriously keep identifying yourself as the racist eugenicist here with no prompting from anyone else. Ig if that’s who you are then, whatever. I dont talk to eugenicist racists either.

  • I addressed that point by saying their intent to be racist or not is irrelevant when we focus on impact to the actual victims (ie systemic racism). Who cares about the individual engineer’s morality and thoughts when we have provable, measurable evidence of racial disparity that we can correct easily?

It literally allows black people to die and saves white people more. That’s eugenics.

It is fine to coordinate with universities in like Kenya, what are you talking about?

I never said shit about the makers of THIS tool being punished! Learn to read! I said the tool needs fixed!

Like seriously you are constantly taking the position of the white male, empathizing, then running interference for him as if he was you and as if I’m your mommy about to spank you. Stop being weird and projecting your bullshit.

Yes, doctors who use this tool on their black patients and white patients equally would be perofmring eugenics, just like the doctors who sterikized indigenous women because they were poor were doing the same. Again, intent and your ego isn’t relevanf when we focus on impacts to victims and how to help them.

We should demand they work in a very meaningful way to get the data to be as good for black people as their #1 priority, ie doing studies and collecting that data

  • It isn’t crazy and it’s the basis for bioethics, something I had to learn about when becoming a bioengineer who also worked with people who literally designed AI today and they continue to work with MIT, Google, and Stanford on machine learning… I have spoked extensively with these people about ethics and a large portion of any AI engineer’s job is literally just ethics. Actually, a lot of engineering is learning ethics and accidents - they go hand in hand, like the Hotel Hyatt collapse.

I never suggested they stop developing the screening technology, don’t strawman, it’s boring. I literally gave suggestions for how they can fix it and fix their data so it is no longer functioning as a tool of eugenics.

Different case below, but related sentiment that AI is NOT a separate entity from its creators/engineers and they ABSOLUTELY should be held liable for the outcomes of what they engineer regardless of provable intent.

You don’t think the people who make the generative algorithm have a duty to what it generates?

And whatever you think anyway, the company itself shows that it feels obligated about what the AI puts out, because they are constantly trying to stop the AI from giving out bomb instructions and hate speech and illegal sexual content.

The standard is not and was never if they were “entirely” at fault here. It’s whether they have any responsibility towards this (and we all here can see that they do indeed have some), and how much financially that’s worth in damages.

As someone who has gone through old stuff like that, imo it’s the packaging (a lot of which these days is coated in plastics that degrade over time) that the expiration date is for rather than the actual product. Eg the cardboard will break down or the cans will rust into the product.

  • Yeah, there are a lot of men on here who really go to bat for pedophilia. Don’t even BREATHE a word about AI porn of children being immoral because it is modeled after irl children and can be made to blackmail kids etc. Don’t ever argue with any Muslim misogynists on here that child marriage is bad or that feminism in Islam is good. Never be upset that a man was saying it is “probably” not good for kids if they participate in sex acts (we have specific physiological signs like bedwetting that show CSA is inherently damaging to humans) but that it should be totally normal to have your kids WATCH you fuck because they probably did that in medieval times.

And people wonder why my bio recommends BlueSky

  • I think you’re actually doing here what you are accusing me of re: misinterpretting. My last comment was mild af.

The world has become more hateful. It’s not just online or in people’s heads. We have evidence that massive online warfare happens, literal psychological warfare and soldiers paid to post hate online all day every day. One independent journalist estimated at least a trillion dollars spent for various election/political meddling in 2024 and 2025, with protests in Romania, Georgia, Serbia, Slovakia, South Korea, Germany, Poland, etc etc etc.

So yeah, you got a downvote, grow up about it. You’re wrong and didn’t contribute anything meaningful to the conversation. This isn’t even “hate,” this is simple disagreement that you are too thin-skinned to handle.

Hate is stuff like: ableism, misogyny, racism, homophobia, transphobia. Eg a roomba yelling the N word at people. It is not disagreeing with you and downvoting you, lol. For fucks sake.

Edit for your E2: The massive online armies are using online hate to conduct genocides and kill people more efficiently. With massive networks of countries with camps and slavery including Assad’s knowledge of death camps.

  • BlueSky is genuinely one of the least toxic socials I’ve had in a while. I can agree to disagree there on normal issues like whether UBI should be given in a lump sum, weekly, monthly- it’s not fucking assholes “debating” if aliens built the pyramids and whether we should drink our own pee or if good faith arguments are important or if it’s “natural” to be attracted to 14yr old girls as an adult man (all topics I’ve seen on Lemmy).

  • “All else being equal,” it’s not equal though, that’s what I’m saying. Our legs have electrical and muscular aids in them which make them unlike a lever completely.

You shortened it down to simplify a complex topic. I’m pointing out it’s not that simple and it’s okay to learn more. As we age we should keep up with learning dense subjects to keep up our neuroplastocity, and it’s a social virtue. Right now I’ve been learning about electrobiochemistry for instance. You can just download textbooks. Please stop committing to simplicity when reality is complex.

Physiology wouldn’t encapsulate a huge subject and multiple specialty fields (physiologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, medical technologists, physical educators, surgeons, biomedical engineers) if it was simple physics. We wouldn’t need all the other muscles and junk if it was all simple physics. It’s not. It’s a highly complicated series of biochemical, magnetic, electrical, energetic, and physical properties that work against and with each other
