Same issue here. My company is freezing any hiring this year. And next year won’t be looking good either. And to add on top of that, most big companies are outsourcing to Eastern Europe short-term because it’s cheaper, or directly to India, as was the case with Amazon Romania that laid off a bunch of its workforce and then hired back a few of them to make workshops for the people in India that are going to pick up their jobs to do the exact same thing.
Also the pay in the sector in Germany sucks ass. It’s really bad

Yes, of course the driver is at fault for being an idiot. And sadly, a shitton of drivers are idiots. Ignoring this fact is practically ignoring reality. You shouldn’t be allowed to do false marketing as a company exactly because idiots will fall for it.

Well, if only Tesla hadn’t invested tens of millions into marketing campaigns trying to paint autopilot as a fully self driving, autonomous system. Everyone knows that 9 out of 10 consumers don’t read the fine print, ever. They buy, and use shit off of vibes. False marketing can and does kill.
I understand. Thanks a lot for the info.
People just expect open source devs that do this shit in their free time with absolutely no compensation to bend over for them and do everything they please. The good thing about open source development is that you can just help with the development yourself.
People still don’t care. They’ll still open packaging related issues. And someone will still have to sift through those and close them individually.

So now it’s not just TERF island but also nazi island.
Of course the US will fight tooth and nail to keep its propaganda machines at work all around the globe.
Personally, I was in the same situation as you a few years ago. I was in complete despair, burned out by the sheer pressure of the ever changing political landscape, always slipping bit by bit closer to fascism. Thankfully, a friend pulled me out of it by making me engage with local political organizations. I joined a marxist group, read a lot on political theory and on history. Only then I realized that what I was fearing the most was the unpredictable. But it doesn’t have to be like that. The more I expanded my knowledge in terms of history, economics, and politics, the more I felt like I at least knew what to expect, that I was somewhat in control of my fear. Don’t get me wrong, I still dread the future, but all that I can say now is that at least I now somewhat know what the future brings. And while my outlook still stays bleak, having an understanding of what’s happening around you lets you have a more rational and hands down approach towards your fears. Also, engaging politically at a local level helps a lot too. You can make an impact and see things changing for the better at least in your direct vicinity.
But American companies harvesting our data and sending it straight into the hands of the Trump administration and his harem of tech whores like Zuckerberg, Bezos, Altman are a-okay. I’d rather have China harvest my data, because China doesn’t have as much influence over my life here in Germany as the US does.
What features would that include that the phone doesn’t already have? I’m currently an iPhone user, but I’m looking to move to a more open source alternative.
Except Germany keeps delivering weapons to Israel, gives them diplomatic and political coverage, and apparently even has planes in the air to support Israeli fighter jets in their attacks on Iran.
Because China doesn’t have as much influence in Europe as the US does. Besides that, there’s a higher chance of US companies sharing data with European governments than Chinese companies doing so.
As someone living in Europe I’m more concerned with American companies harvesting my data.

I personally believe the CCP is doing an amazing job. Communism is working wonderfully
EDIT: Anti-communists are hilarious. “It’s not communism but capitalism.” And if it is communism, then it is evil because communism bad. Or some made up stuff about uyghurs or queer people.
Stop falling for the liberal trap that laws and bureaucracy will somehow magically save you from fascism. It won’t. This is just the start. They’re slowly warming you all up to it until it’s going to be too late. There’s no such thing as “This can’t happen here!”. It definitely can, and it definitely will if you don’t organise and stop it.
Because you can use one time pad encryption which is theoretically unbreakable. Intercepting the photons used to generate these keys would instantly alter their state thus making them unusable.

Capitalists the moment the free market™️ no longer works for them: “I love state intervention!”
I for one welcome this development. China, even if just out of national security interests, has proven to be quite a valuable partner in championing open source alternatives to Western technologies locked under key, proprietary licensing, and other such arrangements, which led to monopolies. China first started doing this with designing and actually building RISC-V architecture devices as a way to move away from x86 and ARM architectures. Now let’s hope that UBIOS will be supported in a similar, open source way, so that we can gain more sovereignty over our own devices.
