I am convinced that few Lenny user experiences are the same — and that’s a good thing. I stand by the meme for the simple reason when I post to Lenny I’m not putting money into the pocket of anyone.
I guess that’s the biggest draw for me.
And that I feel users here, whether they agree with one another or whether they might be toxic, they are at least thoughtful and attempt to support their claims with reason and evidence.
And I never feel used at Lemmy the way I have on FB ETC.

Serious question for you all. I too wish to see Linux use increase. I also want to see corporate social media die. I am thinking of requiring my students to create Lemmy accounts for a Lemmy group i create.

All the above is true. My own few experiences made me more curious, analytical, and open minded. All very good permanent changes.
