    I love seeing stuff like this. One of the last things my nephew (basically a little brother) said to me was that I needed to accept that there will always be people that hate me for my gender identity, and that it was pointless to try and stand up against them.

      Which is why you stand up anyway. You keep standing back up. Nothing takes a bigot’s power away like your lack of submission.

      i disagree with your nephew’s conclusions. yes, there will always be people who hate you for your gender identity. i have news. people are jerks. people are going to dislike you for good reasons and bad reasons, you don’t even like everybody. if they hate you for your gender identity, that’s their problem. just be you. when it is safe, let your freak flag fly. because there are going to be people who like you for you too, and that’s far better than when they like you for some facade you put up.
