If you mean encouraged as in “You should know that you have this option, and there is nothing wrong with taking it”, then yes. But no one should ever be telling a terminally ill person that they should kill themselves because of it.
Yes. That is what I meant. Bad choice of words on my part. However, in cases of severe dementia euthanasia is much more humane than letting someone live in agony without the ability to express themselves. This obviously wouldn’t be the same as someone with terminal cancer, etc. Dementia is a true motherfucker.
Bad choice of word. Meant more along the lines of informed and not shunned, but in some cases of dementia the family members need a reality check on what humane for the person with dementia
Mine is that we should let people humanely end their lives whenever they choose to, no questions asked. I don’t understand this need to keep everyone alive who doesn’t want to be. Life is fucking hard as it is to have depression, and on top of that, be forced to deal with all of this every day in misery.
I already went through depression and it was awful, but now that I don’t have it, I don’t really find life any more appealing than before. I still often wonder, do I really want to live through this shit for the next 40 fucking years?
Euthanasia should be legal and encouraged for people with terminal diseases like dementia. Suicide should be legally available to all citizens too

Encouraged??

Ok, “encouraged” just goes into some very dark territory.
