First read started in 2003 and went til 2007 when Jordan died ending on book 11.
Waited for Sanderson to finish it. Started again from book 1 in 2011ish, finished it all by 2014/2015… While doing my M.Sc lol.
Started it again in 2020? Got almost all the way though book 9 and set it down.
Picked up Malazan Book of the fallen on audio books and got 75% book 8 and couldn’t hack it - too abstract, to wide and long of arcs for shitty characters I didn’t care for.
Now I am starting the wheel again. I’m going to skim book 9/10 for relevant parts this time around fully skip the hunt for that dumb bitch
Honestly, I like the first few. They were great. Memories of Ice (book 3?) was possibly the best one.
I just find it tried to cover too much and because of this the story is scattershot. I get that this part of his style but still, I don’t give two shits about Nenander Gullet or Clip, yet I have nearly a full book dedicated to them.

Totally agree about Malazan. Except book 5, “Midnight Tides”. That one was the bomb, and should have been the only Malazan book.
