A self tapping screw will drill its own hole in almost anything. A hole in a tire sidewall is not patchable and requires a replacement. Most vehicles carry a single spare. Self tapping screws come in boxes of 100.
Ceramic shards from a smashed spark plug will shatter tempered glass windows. A slingshot can hurl tiny projectiles a decent distance with accuracy.
Caltrops can be made by buying thick welded wire fence and cutting out + shaped pieces, then folding them.
Fill a glass jar or bottle with them, if thrown under a vehical it can quickly disable it. If thrown behind you it can dissuade infantry from chasing you.
Find a small pebble
Glue it to the inside of a valve stem cap.
Make a rube goldberg mechanism that causes a piano to fall on unwelcome visitors if they press your doorbell
Mix unleaded gas with styrofoam and you have taffy that will NOT stop burning, no matter what.
ICE generally doesn’t work city-sanctioned protests. ACAB, but spending city and maybe state resources like so does little-to-nothing to impede ICE. My local PD literally refuses to work with ICE anyways, and what about yours?
Targetted actions, even down to where to engage in peaceful protests, are important. People’s time and effort are limitted resources, and should be used efficiently.
So glad my local PD tells ICE to fuck themselves
If your state allows open carry (guns), fucking do that thing. Show up with a slung AR and a Colt .45 in your belt, SUDDENLY, the police and ICE are peaceful, don’t want any problems.
FFS, a kid with an AR took over a fucking school and the pigs couldn’t figure out what to do, frozen in a clusterfuck of comms and authority issues. And before anyone judges those cops, see what really happened. They’re so used to being the sole arbiters of violence, they froze when challenged. And BTW, that PBS documentary is required watching before you have an opinion on Uvalde. tl;dr: What played out isn’t probably what you thought.
Oof, I’ll watch that when I’m ready; it’s a bit too early for something that heavy
But that aside, support your local PBS!! Or your other local news organization if not pbs. They’re invaluable and we all have benefited from them (probably) at some point in our lives. The above is not directed at you personally just a plea to keep healthy and wholesome news and entertainment accessable for everyone
That documentary is indeed heavy, but I’m sick to death of everyone putting the event down to simple cowardice. The situation was far more complex. Glad I watched it once, never again.
And BTW, that PBS documentary is required watching before you have an opinion on Uvalde.
I’ll give it a shot but if it doesn’t say anything other than “cowardice, lack of training, and unclear command structure” I’m gonna be miffed.
Burning Waymos? Is there a story I missed?
People smashed and burned waymo taxis in the LA ICE Riots earlier this year because waymo locked protesters in the cars at the request of the police.
Wow that’s fucked
All I can think of is that the cities with those cars are likely to be targetted by ICE, but imho, indiscriminately impeding traffice just makes setting up check-points easier.
It’s one of the things that bothers me most about how desensitized we are to constant road construction. We are literally unlikely to notice we are being funneled until its too late to do anything about it. That said, just one more reason to avoid relying on cars.
