I can’t stand lotion. I use coconut oil, almond oil
I see some other Nivea mentions in this thread, but not what I use: Nivea in-shower lotion. After rinsing off body wash/soap, I use Nivea in-shower lotion, then make sure the body parts I put it on get wet again (water activates it) right before I turn off the water. Then there’s no need for additional post-shower lotion.
A shea butter and vit E body lotion mostly. If I shower in PM I use Lactic Acid and Tea Tree Body lotion. Often I also use Ayurveda Abhyanga oil but that’s pre shower routine…:)
You win out the comments lol
After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.
I can’t believe they prefer Van Patten’s card to mine.
The only thing I do now as I’m approaching 40 is rub some baby oil on my feet. Otherwise they get a little dry. Any oil would probably do, coconut is great for a lot of things but it’s not in our bathroom. 😅
Sometimes a little beard oil. Give it that glistening look, and smelling good for my woman.
No, I demoisterize after a shower, using a towel.
Do you de-dry after using a towel?
Yes. I make a liquid come out of my skin. This helps me cool down. But it’s also stinky.
I think that the key parameters here is the water you bathe in. Hard water can be rough in your skin. PH is also a factor
If you are getting oily from moisturizer you are using too much. We should all be moisturizing after a shower because this locks in the moisture we just dunked ourselves in as well as beefs up the moisture barrier so our skin is more resilient to germs and whatever else
I love this stuff, I always put it on my face. It’s just enough to stop feeling like my skin is as dry as paper and it’s not oily, it feels more watery than anything. I switched to it years ago, use it after every shower and now my skin is so nice, presumably just because I’m not leaving my face all dried out, I doubt there’s anything special about this stuff.
That said, I do also use a very gentle sorbolene body wash and hand soap because my skin was too fragile for normal soap. If I don’t, I tend to get lots of sores on my fingers.
I don’t moisturize, period. My skin is fine.
Same here, skin is perfectly fine without moisturizing. But I also drink like a gallon of water a day.
Nivea out here dominating this thread. I also use it, the kind that comes in a brown bottle. I’ve got not-white skin so using it on elbows, knees, ankles is kind of a necessity unless I want to look like I’m wearing skate pads. Always after a shower and sometimes in the morning as well
No, the point of a shower is to get less oily.
I usually don’t but having kids has opened my eyes to the wonders of aquaphor. That shit is incredible.
Can’t handle wet on wet, so I wait until a couple of hours after my shower and then just hit the dry parts with some Nivea lotion
Sometimes I dry off after shower with oil on a damp washcloth, don’t like oil on dry skin but sealing in the moisture while gently exfoliating is great.
Body lotion I like Nivea with creatine & Q10, except for the smell. Archipelago Botanicals Botanico de Havana is the best but too expensive for an everyday use.
Grapeseed oil. Coconut oil is too heavy since my skin is sensitive even though it smells great 😭
