I do top -> 6 hours it keeps it fresher
My problem is rhe slow burners dont make it in, meaning you miss many current events. I now use Top Week because “You didn’t hear about …?!?”
Top 6 for all, new for subscribed, works for me.
Top 12 first thing in the morning, top 6 after 2pm, hot after that; new for subscribed.

I’ve set lemmy to automatically hide read posts, so since it hides those for me, it tends to show whatever it can find.
