Probably for women who need to breastfeed or use those pumps while at work. Because besides not having parental leave somehow the states also does not require a room to be provided for such things.

        That’s blatantly wrong.

"Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) … most nursing employees have the right to reasonable break time and a private place to pump breast milk while at work. This right is available each time the employee needs to pump for up to one year after the child’s birth.

This Fact Sheet summarizes the space requirements for pump breaks under the FLSA."

That sounds reportable and not the norm

Yeah the US is shit, but we don’t need to dogpile. Again, most likely reportable and a singular instance. Thank you for your anecdote

Couldn’t they just put a toilet seat on the toilet for that then? This sends the message they are trying to maximize efficiency and allow someone to sit on the commode whilst someone else is breast feeding.

Anywhere suggesting that someone that is breastfeeding should have to sit facing a prison commode isn’t really focused on comfort. The assumption here is that if they are willing to relegate someone to such a place for breastfeeding, they don’t give a damn about comfort and it’s more likely that they want to keep the toilet free. It’s hyperbole hopefully.
