Anyone who refers to their possessions by the corporate trademark and coddles it like a newborn really will believe they’ve ruined it. It’s not a PC, it’s a Mac. It’s not a car, it’s an Alfa. alternatively, i say mac because its quicker than laptop/computer/pc and macbook because it provides more context with the same amount of effort… without that context, people will assume windows, which is fine - it’s not a status thing (for me) - but when discussing how to get things done, it avoids the minor annoyance of mismatched expectations for no extra effort
Tbf some of these brands get so tied to the product that people forget that that’s just the brand and their not the only ones who make that product. I’ve been bothered before by people calling any suv a Jeep whether it was a Jeep or not, but on the other hand I didn’t know that Dremel was a company until embarrassingly recently.
