In the DVD I have, there’s this hilarious behind the scenes clip where the T-Rex animatronic starts twitching and jerking when exposed to the artificial rain, Steven Spielberg watches stuff unfold with his jaw on the ground, and the folks try to dry the animatronic up with towels (as seen here).
Can’t get this shit on streaming services, tell ya what!
That’s an excellent dvd extra!
T-Rex: So for this scene did you want a long pondering stare, like I’m figuring out who I am-
Director: LOL bro just roar AIGHT!? Action!Bet they honked like a goose.
If they did, it would at least be a lot lower-pitched than a goose. Vocalization frequency tends to scale with the size of an animal.
So I’m guessing their honk would sound more like a foghorn … which is kind of terrifying in its own way.
(Heavy fog over the water as a ships crew look out in concern)
HOOOOOOONK
Captain: RIGHT FULL RUDDER!!!
I mean, sure. Maybe. Probably?
But can you imagine anything more terrifying than a multi-ton Canada goose charging and honking at you?
(Slow heavy metal version of O Canada plays as mega goose swoops in)
Counterexample: cheetahs. They sort of meow instead of roaring.
Have you heard what a horny moose sounds like? Although I guess that’s not technically a “vocalization”.
Didn’t they have feathers? Or was that another era?
Yes, current consensus is that T-Rex probably had at least some feathers.
Be happy, with your mouth open
It’s pretty tragic that even to this day she isn’t credited by name.
The fan base calls her Roberta. Or Rexie
To say nothing of what they made her do to get the role. :(

She’s a clever girl.
That couch looks sad
JD was around
Which implies that the T-Rex already had a major role in a movie 55 million years ago and now I’m curious in what movie?
I’m more impressed that they filmed a movie 10 million years after all the other dinosaurs went extinct.
The “Rex” in T-Rex means “king” in Latin. Therefore, the female T-Rex’s name should be Regina, which means “Queen” in Latin.
Should have soaked them up with her feathers
Please don’t make fun of her female-pattern baldness
Keep my large theropod dinosaur’s name out your f***** mouth
What about King Kong? That was pretty big at the time. Sure, it’s more of a supporting role, but still significant.
I thought that’s were I was
That dude looks like a young John Oliver - which can’t be, because that guy was born old
I think you mean John Oliver. Jamie Oliver is the chef
You’re right! I fixed that! Thanks
Sure, Jan. We all know predators don’t sweat.
Good /c/fakehistoryporn content
Her name was T-Rex?? That’s like naming a dog “Dog”
Birds don’t sweat. Dinosaurs turned into birds.
