Such a US problem with your weird sizes of king and queen and whatever other crazy names there are.
In civilised countries beds are 120 / 140 / 160 / 180 wide and always 200 long.
And guess what, so are the sheets! This is not a US problem though. There are a few sizes, each of which make sense. All you have to do is buy the right size. Which apparently, people have trouble doing?
You can get ones that are extra deep with two sets of elastic at each corner, at two different depths for different mattress thicknesses
I love mine. They also have a tag at the top and bottom that says top/bottom so you know which sides are shorter vs longer. Makes making the bed suck a lot less 😅
this sounds like some rich person shit I am too walmartcoded to understand
They were store brand at target. I’m also broke as shit, but also have really severe sleep issues so managing anything that interacts with sleep is super important for me and I’m willing to spend a bit more on it
If I don’t wash bedding often enough my allergies trigger a chronic ear infection that makes my sleep worse. So it being painless to wash bedding and put my bed back together is a very helpful
(which is why I have two of most things that go on my bed, so I can wash some things before I even take my bed apart and its easier to get it all put back together before bedtime)
My armspan is just below a king sheet’s short length, so I always just check which side causes more shoulder strain/is more loose at full stretch.
Also yeah, always get a size up if you can/value your sanity.
How you say? This way:

Do I do that? Heck no
They said fit right, not fold right.
At least this tutorial is simpler than the other one, which involves folding specific corners over other corners.
Although I think OP’s struggle is getting the sheet to fit on the bed itself. IMO it’s better to get one that’s slightly too big than slightly too small, since you can tuck the excess under the mattress.
If the excess really bothers you, there are also these little straps you can buy with little suspender clips on either end, and you can use them across the corners to snug up your sheets. I had some knit jersey sheets once that would not stay on until I got some of those.
Edit: These thingies, sheet stays

I wish I’ve gotten these sooner, feel like they’ve improved bed comfort and sleep quality
I got some for my partner because his sheets kept coming off and putting it back on was often something I would do because it was a task that took a disproportionately high level of mental energy for him. Before I got them, he was like “it’s fine”, and handwaving off the faff of putting the sheet back on, because it was just something he was used to. Afterwards he was like “oh my God, what a quality of life improvement from something so small”
specific corners
You just go clockwise.
The ones that are the correct size for the mattress always fit fine for me…
This post is the first time I’ve ever heard that fitted sheets never fit right.
I make mine fit even if it folds my bed in half
So you force it to fit even if it’s wildly wrongly sized. Cool.
I haven’t tried using the wrong size. Turns out I fucked up
I hold a corner with one hand, twirl it around in the air until it’s completely wrapped around my arm, peel it off my arm, throw it in the closet. Done.

POV: my linen closet
You gotta get the deep pocket kind
