The design is very human
It’s true, humans do not have keyboards.
They do, in fact, have wheels.
Source: the humans I’ve seen.
I’ve met your granny too
Was she a bicycle?
Just figuratively.
A sports one at that.
Here’s the video: https://youtu.be/9BnLbv6QYcA
Ah, a radial dial! How quaint.
They call it the iPad
the onion already made this joke over 15 years ago
Well yea, this is a screenshot of that onion video from 15 years ago.
actually now that I think of it. this was a satire piece from when apple was about to reveal the first ipad, they literally said in a press release that it was going to be “a computer with no mouse and no keyboard” because they knew the media wouldn’t stop talking about it. including the outlets that weren’t paid to constantly talk about it
And contrary to popular belief the ipad was NOT the first tablet PC. The world’s first tablet PC was made my microsoft in the mid 2000s and ran on windows XP nearly 10 years before the first ipad. and that windows tablet had twice as much ram, over 3 times the hard drive space, twice as many CPU cores as the first ipad that came out nearly a decade later
it’s amazing what an ad campaign and a small percentage of incompetent windows technicians can do to public perception…actually that’s not fair…There’s plenty of idiots that think windows sucks just because they don’t know how to use a computer and have the same problems on mac and linux they had on windows, because they’re just stupid and it’s because of that stupidity that microsoft hired the people in charge of developing windows now.
I thought it was for an even funnier reason in hindsight: everyone was mad that the MacBook Air didn’t have a CD/DVD drive. It was long enough ago that I could be misremembering though.
(Keyboard sold separately)
To be fair, it would slightly reduce the xhance of the user really messing it up. If they remove the screen too we might finally have a user-proof computer. No more “I’ve forgotten my password”, no more “I put the internet in the trash can and now I can’t find it”, and no more “I didn’t do anything (they absolutely did) and now it doesn’t work, this must be your fault. (As the local ‘techie’ it’s not my fault, but it probably is my problem). Fix it!! (sigh…)”
I’ve messed up headless servers more than once, to be fair.
Right, that’s it, we’re removing the network and power connections too.
To be fair, I’ve had my share of foul ups on remote servers too, but I have noone to complain to but myself about that.
the iPad came out a year later
What year is it?
So quaint compared to 2025
Would go like this:
“This is so much easier than having to type on a keyboard!” (as they take 50 times as long to type than on a keyboard)
Apple, just deal with it.
Yeah… Their “innovation”
