    That was part of military doctrine back then

    You’d run onto the battlefield and when you saw some guy with a big feather hat, puffy shoulders, a dress, bright colours, fancy dress shoes, garters on their legs covered in tights … you’d break out in laughter and roll around on the ground as Mr Fancypants stabbed you.

    I like to mix dialect and era when I come across old drawings. Think transatlantic in the 1700. I say boys how’s about this jaunty little number! Have a look at the pleats fellas I tell ya boys, I say to ya pal these dames go absolutely crazy for a French pleats!

    Well yeah… also being visible enough to not get shot by your own side through thick gunpowder smoke was kinda neat.
