If you read the top comment of the youtube it suggests that there is lore here and it was actually a real thing

It could be someone just fucking around writing a like 2 page youtube comment but I want to believe that this was actually supposed to be a straight to vhs movie about a kid with a congenital defect who chooses to wear cross shaped prosthesis (to bear the cross, get it) and is relentlessly bullied.

Apparently a workprint/screener exists and that’s where the meme came from. I love the idea of some disillusioned kid being forced to watch a horrible indoctrination film, seeing right through it, and turning it into a shitty meme that outlives the memory of the actual movie itself. Of course that could all just be made up

I think that’s a creative writing bit, kind of like Tumblr Goncharov meme. I went down a rabbit hole a few years back when I first found it and ended up on a art commission forumn where somebody was requesting the image described. I can’t link it though because trying to find it on the new-and-improved google results wasteland seems impossible. But there is a knowyourmeme entry for it now. Knowyourmeme claims it has a different origin, so maybe that forum post I found was a hallucination.

Either way, notice that you can’t find any other angles of the case. I actually wanted to try recreating it to give to my cousin as a wedding gift but I would have had to make something to put on the reverse side of the box. and the plot synopsis is right there on the front

I was really stoked when the lore comment mentioned Adventures in Odessy though. 90’s Christian media is a fever dream

The only results I can find for “Jeff Raskin” or “evangelical video alliance” seem to bring up the same text on Reddit, where it’s been claimed to be a copy pasta.

Gaither’s Pond and the Dorbees are real though.
