Saw a car rear end a bike in a bus+bike only lane hard enough to put him on their hood. Guess somehow the bike wasn’t damaged and they decided to just let the driver go. So the driver in the through only bus lane proceeded to turn right across two right turn lanes with limited visibility, followed by another driver turning right from the lane to their left and the two narrowly avoiding a collision. If you’re hit by a reckless driver they need to be held accountable so they don’t hurt others.

Once, in a rather affluent California town, I was stopped with the front of my car halfway in the bike lane so I could view oncoming traffic from the left, in order to pull out. I watched for several seconds as a man on a bike road straight towards me and accidentally ran into my stationary car. There was no damage, and he was unharmed.

I rolled down my window to apologize, as my car was technically in the bike lane. When I did so, this man scowled at me as if I had slapped his mother, and rode off in a huff.

I suppose the moral of this story is that anyone can be an asshole, but try extra hard to not be an asshole when you’re in the machine that can kill.

Cars kill people and are incredibly scary up close

Bicycles kill only their rider when the matrix makes them run red rights and stop signs

I mean, “car crashes into a stationary car” often gets the same response.

The idiot behind the wheel is somehow never at fault.

A cyclist brake-checked the bus I was riding in.

I still think of that man. And I hope when he got his wish that his organs helped others.

That must have took some balls. One of the celebs in my country got into the news by brake-checking in front of a bus with a Bentley. The footage from the inside of the bus is savage. Sure he probably wouldn’t have died from that crash but that car sure looked expensive. Anyway he died a year later, urban legend has it from a cocaine OD. Karma is real kids.

Static isn’t wrong, and stationary bikes are actual things people use — not simply an unmoving bicycle.

oh I didn’t consider the double meaning of stationary bike and a stationary bike, but i still feel it is more appropriate than static, since that does not relate enough to velocity
