I like it better this way.
Yeah me too, it’s like two different voices. “FUCK YOU, Overseer!” vs “FUCK you, Overseer!”
Fallout 3 gave me one of the biggest laughs I’ve had in years when a door was opened in an urban area, only to reveal a wall behind it with “fuck you” sprayed on it.
I bet the environment designer is still chuckling his tits off knowing that people are getting a face full of that.
edit: still got a laugh out of me

That is the exact shape of the lettering in the image shared by OP as well. Guessing they had a single asset for that bit of graffiti and just reused it/recolored it in other places.
This was my guess before even seeing that clip.
There is a similar thing in fallout 4 but the text says behind you or something like that and when you open the door a big robot spawns behind you and tries to kill you.
That kinda overdoes it, IMHO.
I wonder if this is related to localization. In some languages, Fuck You and Thank You would not have the You in common.
It’s not that deep. They had a “fuck you” graffiti asset that’s used all over the game. They used it again here, instead of making a new one that just says “fuck”.
Additionally, if a game dev were to make this mistake, a grafittier might too.
I just got huge déjà vu writing this.
Would such inconsequential assets even be localised? More likely the asset from elsewhere is being reused.
You know, I always questioned this and just now realized they reused the “fuck you” graffiti from that satellite array.
It’s used in a lot of places. The satellite array Easter egg only exists because the graffiti was made to put all over the game.
I could see that. But I could also see someone wanting to do a one-off gag and then reusing that texture. Do we know for sure?
I don’t think there’s a way to know for sure, but that gag would have come later in development. It’s near the edge of the map, and the map was smaller earlier in development. That means they would have had to make it for the gag, and then go through all the other parts of the map and add it to many other raider locations. That doesn’t seem likely.
Good point! Makes more sense for sure.
Touch of realism. Graffiti isn’t necessarily coherent or rational. Sometimes it’s just some angry shit scrawled on a wall.

Yes. It’s a shame Fallout 3 has that one and only problem.
I wish I saw Todd-Posting more often in the wild. It’s one of my favorite things.

kind of like how ozzy rhymed “masses” with…“masses”
didn’t slow him down any, though
The words were spelled the same but had different meanings. The dude was English he had a grip on the English language.
Masses as in a large gathering of people, and Masses as in a large… …gathering… …of people.
But religious.
I mean, they’re different things, but at the same time you can make a convincing argument that they aren’t.
i would concede that ozzy’s rhyming of masses with itself is not the same as covering up “you” with…“your”
