Reminds me of that dumbass company a few months ago that used claude and it tried to fix some bug, found some API key with full permissions and deleted the entire volumes of the server, including the backups. Instead of saying: “Goddamn AI is fucking stupid never again” like a sane human being, the CEO blamed the server provider for “not putting enough guardrails in check”.

this is true just in general even ignoring AI.

When you make a mistake, the boss is hard on your heels, if the mistake is found to be on the bosses part, magically it’s no longer a mission critical mistake.

The alternative being: if the boss makes a mistake, it’s still your fault and you must fix it ASAP or you’ll be fired one way or another.

Similarly, if you make a mistake while disliked you are clearly incompetent and need to be punished, but a mistake while liked is only human.

The company I work at (as a warehouse worker) wrote down in their AI policy that “Not utilizing AI is considered a financial risk”

I don’t care that it made you a funny meme that is photorealistic. I don’t care if it helped you to code your website. All I care about is that I’m now expected to surrender myself to the machine, forget how to draw even a stick figure, forget how to play instruments, forget how to write code. Even forget basic critical thinking skills. All because there’s now a 420/69/poggers/Kenau Reeves levels of cool machine, that turns a lot of things away from “implementation” into “coming up with the best ideas”

Good news, no one expects that of you.

You seem to be struggling with critical thinking all on your own. “Forget how to play instruments”, what a fucking joke.

Nah I’m being told I could get a lot more stuff done with AI all without any negative effect on quality (doubt), and I’m not getting a job in my original field unless I “learn to get the maximum out of LLMs, and set up agents” (if they at all would hire me without 864186496384384938489340 years of experience).

did you know it “kills orphans”?

You can literally say ANYTHING about AI as long as it’s negative these days.
