    Arrives unelected

    Kills the queen

    Refuses to elaborate

    Leaves

What did she mean by this?

I’m very proud to say that my first visit to the UK ever was during the turmulent Truss tenure. It was phenomenal, you folks know how to handle incompetence. I never thought I’d see a head of lettuce destroy a head of state, but the Brits know what they’re doing.

I’ve also heard principal investigator, but it’s all the same. I think I’ve talked with mine once since I defended. I think that’s for the best.

PIs are trained on science that is likely outdated by the time they become professors, rewarded to churn out as many grants as possible, and never given a day of managerial training. Switching to industry after my PhD was a breath of fresh air.
