I got a warning on reddit a couple days ago for suggesting Deni Avdija (NBA player) is getting a superstar whistle this season because he is Israeli.
They removed my comment and threatened me with a ban for promoting violence when all I said was “It’s because he’s Israeli.” In response to the OPs question.
I was mostly joking, but it kinda seems like they are already doing what this guy is saying they should do.
The fact the moderator didn’t even ask for proof for such claim. Typical behaviour.
Remember if you must reddit, lurk, any voting, commenting you do over there is transferring value from you to reddit.
I know, I feel a bit ashamed that I made an account and started commenting again. I’m going to delete it again soon.
People underestimate how hard it is to stay out of the comments. Most of our happy chemicals come from the comments. We’ve trained ourselves to head there after reading the post, if not just the headline. It’s not good, not now, when the comments are policed and filtered so thoroughly.
And this is why I’m here
So…the Jews want to control the media…? Man, they’re really trying to live up to some of those old stereotypes.
But now that it’s a stereotype you aren’t allowed to call it out if it really happens lol
Shrewd maneuvers.
Not Jews but Zionists specifically, including Christian Zionists. Zionists have had siginficant control over US media for a very long time but when you state the obvious people call it the antisemitic trope because they have been conditioned to do so. They were pretty open about why they bought TikTok
Only antisemitism? Not other forms of racism?
I bet the only form of “antisemitism” this is about, is criticism of genocide.
A better example

Fuck you, I won’t do what you tell me!
Fuck you, I won’t do what you tell me!
MOTHERFUCKERRRRR
You can’t tell me what to do! I WILL suck dick in the library!
Cunnalingus appreciators win again
And remember his definition of anti-Semitism includes accurately reporting the activities of Israelis in Gaza.
Thank god I am not American.
Europe unfortunately isn’t really going in the right direction either with things like chat control
Digital services act is the one that put up speech controls for socials.
The First Amendment is already gone. Have you seen what happens to people who criticize the regime? The US is cooked, fam.
First Amendment was always a polite fiction of the regime. Americans get to pretend they have it until they upset someone with actual power.
But you’re always free to run scams, to slander the weak and vulnerable, and to rally bigots into a lynch mob. So the idea of Free Speech remains valuable to demagogues and unscrupulous marketing goons alike.
…or we can just decentralize the entire web again. Seriously!
When any criticism of the Israeli government or expression of solidarity with the Palestinian people is “antisemitic”, you’ve damaged and weakened the very meaning of the word “antisemitism” and the moral authority of those who wield it.
I’ve heard some people say some straight-up antisemitic things recently, and, for the first time in my life, I’ve been scared to speak up against it. Because this country successfully destroyed the meaning of antisemitism to the point that a Nazi could easily stomp my Jewish ass without facing real heat concerning hate crimes because they support Israel or whatever.
My community should have really considered the repercussions of agreeing with a Nazi back when they had a chance. Instead, when I’d point out that being on the same page as Nazis usually implies you’re on the wrong side, they responded that maybe it’s time to admit that Hitler might have had some good ideas.
You don’t have to have seen Lost Boys to know that you shouldn’t invite a vampire into your home. Same goes for Nazis.
i have a question to ponder. Why is the term ‘antisemitism’ used so much more often than ‘antijudaism’
Someone else gave the clean version, but the conspiracy theory version is Antisemitism relates Jews with the middle east even though most are from Eastern Europe and have no connection to actual semites. Therefore the term antisemitism is an extension of zionism.
Because Judaism only covers the religion, while semitism covers so much more. It would not be antisemitic to say that my chances for dementia are significantly elevated, even though that is a common trait with people of my Jewish lineage. And, in fact, I’ve watched most of my family die from neurodegenerative diseases.
What is antisemitic is when people tell me that I don’t have a very Jewish-looking nose. No amount of reading the Torah will give your family dementia or enlarge your nose.
The chances that I’m circumcised are higher, and that’s because of my religion. Guessing that wouldn’t be antisemitic, but asking if my parents cut my pp off could possibly be seen as such.
I’m not sure if I made sense with all this. You’re welcome.
my answer would be that Palestinians are Semites
Thankfully, there’s literally no way that can backfire, which is a real relief.
I can’t even tell what that word means anymore.
It means “doesn’t smile enthusiastically enough while licking Netanyahu’s taint”.
Antisemitism is calling all Jews (including those in your country) bad because X.
Antizionism is calling the Israeli government (and only the government) bad because Y.
Antizionism should be calling Zionists bad, and there are plenty outside of the Israeli government.
If you’re anti-nazi there are a lot of people you should be calling bad outside of the German government between the 20’s and 40’s.
I agree with you. And I would also like to set fire to this thread by asking: couldn’t you say the same about criticising US Conservative Republicans and saying all are Nazis, and weaken the word, because only MAGA are legit racist homophobic Christian fascists?
If you look very carefully you will see that they’re all in support of some very Nazi shit.
They just justify that we’re being wokescolds by stopping short of wanting Holocaust 2 (even as they literally support it in Gaza)
That might have been a good point, a few short years ago.
They are Nazis and anyone saying they aren’t at this point is a Nazi apologist and should be treated the same as a Nazi.
jesus fucking christ stop giving a platform to assholes. Don’t disseminate their ideas. Ever.
If ignoring them worked, we’d be fine.
In principle, I agree with you. But the problem is, these assholes already have the platform. They own it, in the literal sense (they outright own or hold large shares in the major social media platforms and the traditional media outlets) and in the more general, vague sense (their beliefs, even if fringe, will get pushed into mainstream discourse because of their grotesquely outsized disproportionate influence). He’s a billionaire. If he wants his message heard by the world, it will be heard, period, because we live in a capitalist society, which isn’t called a dictatorship of the bourgeoisie for nothing.
Given this reality that their ideas will be disseminated regardless, it becomes important to counter them. To shout out the truth that their ideas are disgusting and how they do great harm to regular people and to the world. It is important to mock them and show others how ridiculous and heinous their ideas are.
In short:
If an evil voice has no platform or is struggling to grow one, then I absolutely agree - do not give it to them. But when they already have it, it can only make things worse if their opposition (we, ourselves) remain silent about the harm they’re already doing.
Buddy, I don’t want people to think Jews control the media, but it sure seems like you do
It’s not “Jews” it’s a fundamentalist ethnostate that has occupied our government. Implying it’s “Jews” just plays into their victim defense. Not trying to get on you just trying to spread awareness about changing our language so it’s harder for Israel to claim victim hood for the consequences of their own actions.
I know that, but this guy doesn’t want me to, which is why it really seems like he wants people to hate Jews
The more people who hate Jews, the more galvanized the Israeli ethnostate becomes.
Zionists are not jews. Can’t be both.
Are you deliberately trying to increase confusion?
Commiting genocide is not what a jew following the religion correctly would do. Zionism is not Judaism the same way Djihadi Salafism is not Islam
The act of commiting genocide neither changes someones religion nor ethnicity.
Who talked about ethnicity ? What I am saying is that they don’t represent the religion and should not be conflated
Jewish religion and ethnicity are often co-mingled. I’m covering both with my response.
Saying X is against genocide does not mean that people who believe X can’t commit genocide.
There are plenty of murderous Christians despite the rule “thou shalt not kill”.
Totally, yes. Only possible explanation.
Israel single-handedly making all the antisemitic conspiracy theories start seeming more and more true.
Sounds like a good way to get people who have no problem with Israel to start having a problem with Israel.
If you don’t have a problem with Israel you’re not paying attention
That’s the entire point of what theyre saying. Most people aren’t paying attention. But do something like this and they will start to.
No they won’t. Half the population worships a pedofile con man who was born rich because they think he’s been chosen by god. It will be done under cloak and dagger like all of our constitutional rights that we’ve lost. Palantir has probably already identified the targets
Half the population worships a pedofile con ma who was born rich because they think he’s been chosen by god.
I can’t think of a pedophile who is worshipped by about 4 billion people right now. Mind telling who he is? Weird that I haven’t heard of someone so popular.
Sounds like a threat to America and American values.
He is anti-American.
I thought fueling Israel’s crimes was an American value?
Does America have values beyond imperialism when it comes to Israel?
Capitalism is the heir of feudalism and always the prelude to fascism, a system of control and oppression, never a political system. Billionairs and politicians need to be controlled, not the other way arround.
I mean, the title may be true, but I’d hardly call this a crazy law. Draconian censorship is routine and endemic globally. It’s the Free Speech policy that’s “crazy”.
As more media is heavily monetized, the real appeal of censorship is as a revenue source. Surveillance, draconian administration, and targeting of dissidents all become income streams for the platforms.
Nothing unusual about that, either
I like free speech. I’m on a 1st amendment guaranteed free speech website and I can scrap with diehard trump supporters on there which is quite fun. There are people who love trump of course and there are also people on the right who are aware that trump is a zionist pet. It’s nice being able to disagree with people but without being banned for having the wrong opinion. This way, I develop a better understanding of how others think.
How is targeting dissidents a revenue source? Not in most countries surely?
How is targeting dissidents a revenue source?
States with large pools of disposable income and businesses with big PR budgets will pay top dollar to squelch activists and opponents.
Not in most countries surely?
How much is Palantir getting paid? How much is Black Cube getting paid? There’s always a pricetag on this work and plenty of organizations - especially fascist governments - are happy to outsource the work to friendly contractors.
