POV: you’re boobs
It was the last decade of magic before the Chaos Lord drained all of it from the land.
Also, every video used a fisheye lense, it was the law of the land.
We were powerless to stop him. :(

Had I a First Born, I would trade them for those pants.
They were all proudly holding their new ϹƵɭǟɥվʭӀкɲNjǀлѕ, before it was erased from the timeline.
It was pioneered way before 2000

even though probably plagiarized

This is amazing.
yes, thanks for pointing that out. this little research made my morning. thanks everyone
Team Foucault all the way. Chomsky folded like a cheap chair. /s
Chomsky? Isn’t that the guy that has ties to an international pedo ring?
Noam Chomsky, Jeffrey Epstein and the Politics of Betrayal by Chris Hedges
That’s when fingers began to fing
'They call 'em fingers, but I’ve never seen ‘em fing…’ -Otto
Same reason everyone started doing the stupid duck face shit in the 2010s then everyone started doing peace signs again.
The newest generation isn’t immune to stupid shit just like every other decade isn’t.
This is being done today. Ever notice how Youtubers/streamers are always waving their hands across the screen like they’re doing ninja chops or something.
is the guy at the 3rd image Limp Bizkit?
No, that’s Fred Durst. Limp Bizkt is the name of the doctor that created him.
ohh right
We didn’t have selfie-cameras, so the only way to do a selfie was to throw your camera with a little spin on a short timer and hope it all looked great when one of your 24 photos were developed on bits of paper some time later…
I broke so many cameras this way…
You joke but you can actually get some neat photos doing this, assuming you are competent enough to catch your camera. Especially with a fast auto shutter.
It was before the invention of the duckface.
Skate videos popularized the use of the fish eye lens. Music videos had people waving their hands around in the face of the camera because it looks cool through that lens. The idea was applied to still images, and this is the result.

Hype Williams directed the music videos in the 90s-2000s with lots of contrast, bright colors, bright lights, and the fisheye lens.
If you look up some Busta Rhymes music videos you will see plenty of examples.

It’s weird but, without the sound track these gifs just look like a bunch of posers trying to look cool.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but with the music it also looks that way to someone over twenty years old or so.
It was a remarkably stupid time, however even back then there were better music videos. E.g. stuff by Michel Gondry, Run Wrake, or Spike Jonze.
It’s all in the (fish)eye of the beholder.
Everybody is just trying to look cool. Everybody probably looks like a “poser” to someone else. And in a cruel twist of irony, the inventors and early adopters of some “cool” new thing, look derivative and boring years AFTER everyone else has done it. Kids don’t have a long memory for these kinds of things; they grew up in a world where it was already old news and boring, never having experienced a world without it. This shift in perception can happen sometimes even among people old enough to have been there at the beginning. So yeah, they are just a bunch of posers trying to look cool, but aren’t we all?
Late 90s in a nutshell, to be honest.
I jumped in slow motion / off the curb.
Without a skateboard / that should look absurd!
But with my fisheye lens / hey, haven’t ya heard?
I got the moves so smooth / to make ya mom say:
waumph
waumphCould make home movies with one of those
Underappreciated comment.
Why not take the still with a fisheye?
that avril lavigne is taken with a fisheye lens
I think this is the biggest reason. But who am I? I know nothing.
Is this a copy/paste of when this meme was psoted a few weeks ago? This comment really looks familiar…
No. I typed it with my own thumbs, from my own mind.
I was confused about how you would type with only your thumbs on a PC keyboard. Then I remembered that there are phones too and that I type with my thumbs on them…
There’s also this kind of thing.

(I found a surprising number of unfamiliar kinds of input devices when searching for ‘thumb keyboard’ just now — some of which I wouldn’t mind trying like ten years ago.)
Is that a PC keyboard for people who learned to type on a phone?!
It’s more for sporadic use in games, with TVs and such, when having a full-size keyboard is inconvenient. Presumably it could also be used with a tablet, but more typically it’s a small on-desk keyboard, perhaps foldable.
I was thinking of buying something like this a bunch of years ago, when I was looking into sorta-ergonomic devices to diversify my time spent inputting stuff.
Some of these micro-keyboards have a touchpad, and on the ‘gamepad’ keyboard it’s apparently on the back.

Fair enough, then it’s on me for being too lazy to find what I thought I was referring to.
You ain’t goin nowhere!

Nepo photographer?
Look, it’s the same every time a new gadget comes out and takes the world by storm only for it to become boring after a few years. If you weren’t around in the late nineties it’s hard to explain just how exciting fingers were.
We had to do our finging manually before that. It was hell.
Yeah they digital now
Underrated joke 🎖️
And the there were only 4 fingers. Kids these days with their 6 or 7 fingers don’t know what it was like
Remember trying to use an ATM with your dick? I know women used to complain about having to use strap-ons, but I actually think they might have had it better. Those Braille bumps hurt
STRAP ON spelled backwards is NO PARTS
You’re welcome.
This seems relevant: Go hang a salami, I’m a lasagna hog.
I will be using that knowledge irresponsibly. Thankyou.
Coincidentally, women are pretty bad at straponning, because they lack the part of the dick that’s inside the gooch and thus provides support in the action.

We also all suddenly had phones in our pockets and those phones had cameras in them.
and those cameras had wafers in them
Because that year researchers discovered hands
I am still thankful for that 🤗
