The quintessential example of this category: the pointless, yet hilarious improv comedy podcast recapping all 431 episodes of the 1960s series Bonanza: Bonanas for Bonanza ← YouTube explanation on Conan O’Brien Feeds a Friend (sic).
I was hesitant to jump in despite loving Daly and Gourley, since I couldn’t give two sh¡ts about the show. But the show is not at all the point. It’s merely the premise that keeps the train on its tracks. So maybe it’s just the most ironic example of this category.
Heroes (Season 1)
Can I do three? Reaper, Dark Matter (2015) and The Lost Room.
Kingpin (2003) was really good.
is this about Fringe? i bet it is
Lemme do two shows:
Kings just had a premise too esoteric for this world. It was like a retelling of the story of king David set in modern times in a constructed world that’s like ours though the Bible doesn’t exist within that world. There’s all sorts of remixed biblical strangeness in it.

Jericho was like if one of those “mystery box” shows actually had a thought out plot that moved forward. Nuclear explosions go off around the country, not-Blackwater PMC guys work for not-Dick Cheney, and the main characters just keep getting sucked in to a ramp up for a post apocalyptic civil war.

Literally me with serial experiments lain:
Constantine starring Matt Ryan (2014-2015). TV show, one season cliffhanger. Pissed me off when they Firefly’ed it.
Land of the Lost
Space 1999
I just started rewatching sg-1 and I love every second of it
Komtraya!
I love sg1!!! It’s a shame what they did with Atlantis and universe.
And seasons 9 & 10. Should have left it where it ended at the end of season 8.
I liked Atlantis. Universe seemed to be barely connected in terms of story. I confess I watched like 2 episodes.
Atlantis was great.
Universe was amazing, and I’m still mad that they killed it on such a massive cliffhanger. Made me gunshy to this day, I don’t like watching shows until they’ve concluded. I will, but I don’t like it. Much rather find something that’s already wrapped up.
I really disliked the first few episodes of Universe. The Battlestar Galactica reboot’s grimdark edge was bleeding in very strongly. The show does mellow out on that as it goes. The basic character friction is still there, but toned way down and characters are usually finding common ground.
Be seeing you
Drew Carry show.
I passionately agree
I recently binged every season of “Silicon Valley,” and regret not watching it sooner.
